A diploma built
for the world.

“The DUEF represents France's commitment to welcoming the world's students into our universities — not just as visitors, but as full members of our academic community.”
Prof. Marie-Claire Beaumont — Academic Director, DUEF Consortium
What is the DUEF?
The Diplôme Universitaire d'Études Françaises (DUEF) is a one-year university diploma awarded by French public universities to international students who complete an intensive program in French language, civilization, literature, and culture.
Designed for students who do not yet meet the language requirements for direct enrollment in French degree programs, the DUEF provides a structured, academically rigorous pathway from beginner to advanced proficiency — all within a genuine French university environment.
Upon successful completion, graduates receive an official university diploma recognized by all French higher education institutions, opening the door to Bachelor's, Master's, and doctoral programs throughout France.
