Common
questions.
Everything you need to know before applying to the DUEF program.
No prior French language knowledge is required. The DUEF accepts complete beginners at A1 level and places students in appropriate groups after a placement test. Students with existing French skills can enter at intermediate or advanced levels.
Yes. Non-EU international students must obtain a long-stay student visa (VLS-TS) for France before enrolling. Our admissions team provides a letter of acceptance that you can use for your visa application at the French consulate in your home country.
Several funding options exist: Campus France manages the Eiffel Excellence Scholarship, individual universities offer merit-based grants, and some bilateral agreements between France and partner countries cover partial fees. Our admissions office can advise on options specific to your nationality.
The DUEF is a national university diploma (Diplôme Universitaire) recognized across all French public universities. It is accredited by the Ministère de l'Enseignement Supérieur and is widely accepted as proof of French language proficiency for university admission.
Absolutely. The DUEF is specifically designed as a pathway into French higher education. Upon successful completion, students can apply directly to Licence (Bachelor's), Master's, or professional programs at partner and other French universities.
The DUEF is a one-academic-year program (September to June), consisting of approximately 600 contact hours across six core modules. Students attend classes Monday through Friday, with optional cultural excursions and language labs scheduled throughout the year.
